Drive to Inkonka. Hike down the steep hill overlooking Howick Falls from WESSA Umgeni Valley. Continue along the floor of the valley at the base of The Saddle (Dry Mountain) following the Umgeni River. Spend some time hugging the biggest Fig Tree ever. The trail is steep, rocky and at times muddy, but oh so beautiful. Steep climb out of the valley, finishing off walking along the road back to the cars at Inkonka. Approximately 12 kms. Approximately 4.5 hours depending on how muddy the trail is. N.B. EARLY start to avoid the intense heat in the valley.
