Hike Leader: Carolee Thompson
On a beautiful sunny day, 18 of us ventured up the steep ascent, to the contour path, then on to the summit of Nhlosane. Two snakes were spotted quietly sunning themselves. (?Olive grass snake or Berg adder) The whole area had been recently and intentionally burnt, but the green grass shoots were already coming through the dry earth. The climb is apparently 1976m, whereas Mt Gilboa is 1765m! It took us 2 hours at an easy pace, to reach the top.
Well done to the 7 hikers in our group who were first timers up Nhlosane and welcome to our new MHC members, Tracy and Ann.
The last stretch was through the forest, and back to Mount Park to enjoy tea/coffee and jam scones, with cream if you were lucky!

Thanks everyone for a lovely hike, sharing and caring.
